What are successful people? Successful people are people who succeed. You don’t have to be the best to succeed. All you need to do is do something where you can succeed. A successful person does not undertake a task that they cannot be successful in. That is, they pick their battles so that they always win. They do not undertake tasks that they think are impossible. They look to impossible tasks and they are already defeated. Successful people know their boundaries and know when to give up.

The best people are different from successful people. The best people see an impossible task and accept the challenge, despite the limited probability of success. In that, they attempt the impossible. Now the impossible is sometimes just that, impossible. However, through practice and striving for the impossible, one surpasses the skill level of that of a successful person. Through strain and concentration, intelligence and skill, the best people become the best people in an attempt of the impossible.

Success is an abstract term. Success is dependent on a perspective held by those around you. When someone defines another as successful. All they are really doing is recognising them as existing within the definitions of the world and accepting the role that they have to play in it. The best people aren’t always recognised as successful in this way. For the best people are attempting the impossible. This is something that invites scorn from successful people. Because successful people, themselves, do not undertake the impossible. Those that they see undertaking such tasks act as an insult to their pride. For they, themselves, do not believe the supposedly impossible can be achieved, they do not want others succeeding where they have failed.

Success is easy. It’s all about picking a task that you can achieve. Being the best is something different altogether. People only become the best through many, many failures. They learn from their mistakes. They continue to strive to be their best and overcome hurdles, obstacles and problems insurmountable in calculation.

Success is easy enough to achieve. All you have to do is approach somebody who lacks skill in your concentrated area and ask them if you are a success. To others who lack skill, you will appear a success since they have not even undertaken the task. Success is determined by those around you. It is a form of acceptance, rather than any measurement of achievement.

In the end being your best isn’t about if you succeed in achieving the impossible. Being your best is just that, being your best. Some people may ridicule you as they do not accept the role that you have to play. Some tasks or endeavours invite scorn from others. This is usually a symptom of their weakness for what you represent threatens their definitions of the world. Once their world or understanding of the world is threatened, their weakness will force them to take some sort of preventive action in acknowledging what you represent. Life is difficult, wherever you go and whatever you do a struggle is always involved on some level.

Remember this though. Don’t worry too much about becoming successful. Just be the best that you can be.
